OK, let me start by saying it will be difficult to find adjectives to describe my utter glee at "finding" Christi's. I really can't say I found it, because they've been in business 40+ years. But suffice it to say I would have been bitterly disappointed if I had gone another 40 years and not partaken of this goodness! Christi's is located in Kansas City, KS, on 55th Street, just north of Metropolitan Ave, on the east side of the road. This is the epitome of the "greasy spoon", if you will. It's a small, unassuming building which is set up for take out only. Aanndd they're famous for their tenderloin. It had my attention at 'tender'. The prices at Christi's are very reasonable and a couple of other patrons applauded my decision to try the tenderloin. Because of the price, (which I don't remember, quite frankly!), I thought this would be your regular, everyday, "regular" sized sammich. The husband took the food outside while I waited for our drinks. At this point, I still have no idea of what I'm about to see. As I mentioned, Christi's is take out only and there are three picnic tables to dine on, should you choose. So I go skipping outside with the drinks and I see a bed sheet nestled in between two buns. That tenderloin was INSANE!! Not only was it large enough to cover a Hybrid, it was oohh so tender and tasty and crunchy and good and big and wonderful and ... Did I mention it was big?? We both just started eating the tenderloin and making our way to this pebble sized bun. OK, the bun was regular sized, but even Fred Flintstone would freak over the tenderloin size! And it was so incredibly tasty, it would make one have impure thoughts. (Let your imagination go with that comment...). There were moans of enjoyment a d frequent cries to Jesus as we consumed this truly decadent sammich. In addition, since the husband and I were both starved and clearly in need of additional nourishment, we got additional items. I got a "regular" hamburger and tots while Damian got a grilled cheese sandwich and curly que fries. I also got a vanilla shake while Damian got a chocolate malt. Let's just say we were satisfied. We actually met Christi when we there, as she was greeting and waiting on customers. She thanked us foe coming and asked us to come back. Yeah, that won't be an issue. Christi's gets two snaps in T formation!!

Tenderloin and rings are great. I tried a double cheeseburger once and was dissapointed after usually getting tenderloins. For the money , the tenderloin is where it's at. If this were a review on tenderloins alone , it would be five stars. Best tenderloin in KC

Had a Double Cheeseburger and it was awesome....also got a frito chili pie, wasn't fond of that but the cheeseburger made up for it!

A burger and 11 tatar tots cost $6.06 I won't be going back. FOOD IS JUST OK. Look at my pictures for proof.

After recently having a tenderloin at Miss Kitty's I must again aver that Christy's Tasty Queen is arguably, The BEST, tenderloin in Kansas City. I just recently had a nother one of these heaven-sent, porcine pretties and my mouth went into orgasmic fits...love, love, love me some Christy's Tasty Queen Tenderloins. Keep it coming on! Keep it coming on! as KC and the Sunshine Band would say!

I came here before noon on a weekday, having been advised that the line gets long after 11:30 or so. Thanks for the heads up, as it was true. My Mini Cooper suffered in comparison to all of the pickup trucks here with dualies, but that's didn't bother me once I tasted the food. Of course, I got the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. How could you not? I drive from Chicago to KC regularly, which puts me through tenderloin alley in Iowa. I suspect that this version supplied by Christy's is the real deal. I ate around back on one of the picnic tables. I sort of enjoyed this ambiancial detour. The tenderloin was crisp, tasty, hot and a bargain. The next time I make the drive from Chicago, I'll definitely attempt to make a pitstop for Christy's.

Although a tiny place that you might drive by several times without noticing, it pays off with tasty food at reasonable prices! I had the ham and cheese sandwich (about four bucks) and was pleasantly surprised at how filling it was. It came on a hamburger bun with three thick slices of grilled ham and a slice of melty American cheese. I will certainly be going back to try a little bit of everything on the menu. *** Be prepared to wait in line even if you call ahead.

I'd heard about this place for awhile and always miss the good tenderloins I'd get from a diner back home. My folks & I have given this place a few tries, but have left underwhelmed each time. This place is busy...they obviously have strong customer loyalty, but I sure can't see the big deal. The cracker crust on the tenderloins is grody. Prices are ok. It's some place I can tolerate, but don't crave.

Christy's Tasty Queen is an unassuming, unpretentious throwback to roadside diners of the 60s and 70s. I have no idea how good most of the food on their menu is, because there's really only one reason you should go here, and that's to consume the best tenderloin you've ever had. The tenderloins are made fresh, soaked in buttermilk, and breaded with crushed saltine crackers. They're huge, crispy, and incredibly tender. I pair them with a side of tater tots, and a large drink in a 32oz styrofoam cup, just as god intended.

You must get the Tenderloin and seasoned curly fries. I also love their Shakes if you can afford them (Large is around 5 dollars) But also love their tacos. Unlike Taco Bell there is actually beef in these Tacos...Not just lettuce with a few blades of cheese. I would change them being open on Sundays.

Honestly, I'm really torn between a 2 and a 3 star rating. I really, really want to love this place. I've been here a couple occasions now. It's super close by and so convenient. I love that it's not a multibillion dollar corporation. But honestly, the food isn't that great. I haven't had the pork tenderloin sandwich, so I suppose I'll get that next time and post an update, since all the other reviewers are raving about it. Anyway, I've had a burger and each time and the fries were average and the burger... well, kinda below average. It's so disappointing that they use shredded lettuce on their burgers. I've also gotten a peanut butter shake 3 times. The first was kinda lame. Not nearly enough peanut butter mixed in. The second was awesome! The third was about as lame as the first. I might give it one more go, but I'm losing faith. Also, I have no clue why since they seem to make their food to order, but my burger is ALWAYS cold when I get it home! I live less than 5 minutes away! Mind boggling.

Mmmmmmmm, hot fresh tenderloin heaven, nice people, what's not to love? My husband liked his burger a lot but the tenderloin is the star of the show.

I overheard ladies at the gym this morning talking about the incredible pork tenderloins at this place so I had to try it. They weren't kidding! Christy's has a fun and friendly staff that are quick at preparing the order to your specifications. Their tenderloin is outrageously tender, beautifully breaded and the marriage of flavors makes for a VERY tasty sandwich. I was unable to eat the entire sandwich in one sitting. Only bummer part of this place is that there are not any seats...it's a take out only type of place. All in all I loved it and will be back there again to try their other offerings...like frito pie!

The pork tenderloin sammich is heavensent. Be prepared to eat either in your car or at some of the picnic tables out back as there is no indoor seating at all. Skip the onion rings and stick with the fries if you must have a side.

My first time at Christy's Tasty Queen was on Friday. The quest for a good pork tenderloin sandwich is what led me here. Oh my! My expectations were blown away. The pork tenderloin wasn't just good, it is out of this world great! Now, they call it a sandwich but the bun is way too small. Actually this works well because the tenderloin is so good you really don't need the bread. What is missing from this heavenly delight is horseradish. Even so, this pork tenderloin is amazing!!!! Christy's is carry out only but there are some picnic tables for the nice weather days. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

The malts are the BOMB! If you get nothing else here ever, get a chocolate malt! They are great for fries, burgers, and even taco salad! If you are into quick hole in the wall diner food try em out!

Love this place. We stopped for dinner. This is the best tenderloin in the world. The cheeseburgers are great too. Always love the onion rings.

Conveying my order through iron bars seemed alittle odd, must be a disorderly neighborhood. Other than that, this place is what you would expected from a hole-in-the-wall burger joint. Excellent double-cheeseburger.

Thanks yelpers for the insight to Christie's. Well worth it. If you go get the tenderloin it was very good not tough at all to big for the bun but good any way.

The building is a dump and you either take it home or eat at the table outside that is covered in bird crap. The younger staff is very nice, the older staff are grumpy old women who seem to hate there life or maybe they just hate men? I always get a double hamburger with fries and it was one of the best in the city. The problem now is that half the time the hamburger is fresh and good and the other half it is dry and gross. The fries most of the time taste like they have been there for awhile. The tenderloin is huge and for the most part it is good but not great. I will go back here and there but there are better options out there.

Good tenderloin sandwhich here! This place is a carryout only drive-in type restaurant. The people here were really friendly. I will go back for lunch sometime and try another menu item.
